If you haven’t heard of Red 5 Studios, it’s probably because they have yet to actually release a game – the company was founded three years ago by a group of former Blizzard Entertainment employees, and has since spent its time headhunting top game developers to “join the tribe.” In the midst of this year’s Penny Arcade Expo in Washington, however, Red 5 has finally unveiled its maiden title, and it’s definitely going to put the team on the map.

There’s not a single self-respecting gamer on the face of the earth who hasn’t known the joy of StarCraft. No other real-time strategy game has had such an enduring influence on the genre; its sweeping narrative, capacity for player-created content and strategically diverse gameplay paved the way for every RTS game to follow. Even now, over a decade since its release, it is still played competitively (and in South Korea, quite publicly) by millions of diehard fans, and terms such as ‘zerg rush’ have long since embedded themselves in the gaming vernacular. With over ten million copies sold worldwide, StarCraft quite deservedly holds a place amongst the most iconic games of all time.

Square Enix has announced that they will launch Final Fantasy XIV on September, 30th for Windows PC while the PS3 version has yet to be given a specific release date. But it doesn’t just end there; Square-Enix has decided to also release a Limited Collector’s edition for those diehard fans that are aching to explore through the Realm Of Eozrea!  For those of you who pre-order Final Fantasy XIV ahead of time will be given a special code for an exclusive in-game item, specifically called the “Garlond Goggles”.

Don't get your hopes up that Diablo 3 will be released anytime soon, as Blizzard stated they were only going to release two new games this year, Starcraft 2 (hell yeah!) and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.  So you're pretty much looking at a 2011 release window before Diablo fans can rush to their nearest retailers with wallets in hand for the anticipated RPG title.
